Part 1The portrait presents the Gandhara art, which is a unique form of Buddhist sculpture. This art was developed in the Indian subcontinent during ancient times. The art was developed between the 1st century B.C and the 7th century A.D. This unique Buddha sculpture was developed in the school of art to depict Buddhist legend and myths (Lee). The stylistic style was greatly influenced by the art of Rome and Ancient Greece. The Indian traditions also played a massive part in the evolution of the statue.In the interpretation of the art of Buddha, the Gandhara School of art included many techniques and themes acquired from classical Roman art.
