Dietz versus FinlayDietz filed a case against the Finlay firm after she was detained and accused of shoplifting, being a substance addict, and intending to deprive the firm of its value. This had happened after Dietz had offered an authorized discount to a client who had purchased a diamond ring. As a result, Dietz was taken to an interrogation room and interviewed in the presence of a female manager while being monitored by a female security officer. Dietz filed a case on the claims of false imprisonment, defamation, invasion of privacy, and infliction of emotional distress.
