The cold war was a period tension between the United States of America and the Soviet Union and their allies. There was the western bloc and the Eastern bloc which were formed after the Second World War. The war is referred as cold war because there was no direct confrontation between the two superpowers. There were nuclear developments and military deployments to the blocs that supported each side. Other ways of spreading the hatred like in sports, trade embargoes, propaganda and technological competitions were used. During the cold war the U.S enjoyed strong economic growth and its citizens also enjoyed the living standards that were getting better every day.
