After searching for recent (i.e., last five years) articles published in peer-reviewed journal articles (i.e., library journal databases or Google Scholar) on the following general topic areas, choose a general topic for your research project. What general topic area interests you? Then, based on the articles you find published within your general topic area, select a specific sub-topic related to your chosen general topic area for your research project. What specific sub-topic within your chosen general topic area is a "hot topic" in the current literature? Submit your general topic area as well as the specific sub-topic to the dropbox in Word format. General Topic: MIPS : Please place your Final Research Project essay in Word format, complete with the title page, page numbering, proper section headings, APA reference list, and in-text citation in this dropbox. The brief introductory paragraph to introduce the topics covered in the essay.(1st milestone/checkpoint) Explain the intent of your chosen general topic/initiative (i.e., QAPI, MIPS, etc.) This component must include the following information:Why the initiative was developed (i.e., general background)?  Criteria for eligibility in the initiativeMeasurement categories, category weights, and collection types (as applicable to the initiative)Key elements of implementation. What are the key elements (i.e., key steps) for the implementation of the initiative?Expected outcomes for CMS, providers, and patients. What was the expected impact/outcomes for CMS, for providers, and for patients?(2nd milestone/checkpoint) Actual outcomes for the initiative for both providers and patients:Summarize a few peer-reviewed journal articles within the last five years exploring the actual financial impact/outcomes for providers (i.e., financial outcomes).Also, summarize a few peer-reviewed journal articles within the last five years exploring actual quality of care outcomes for patients.Research and discussion of your chosen subtopic.Concluding paragraph on key points.
