Deaf for a DayThe deaf-for-a-day experience was daunting. The wax and earbuds were inserted into my ears a few minutes before the lunch hour. I knew and prepared for this experience, yet I could not settle or comprehend the deaf experience. Particularly, the silence, which struck immediately was very unsettling. In my view, I knew the passersby did not know of my condition. However, I remained conscious and played deaf for them to act and behave objectively towards me.
