Downfall (2004) AnalysisWhen Traudl Junge was interviewing for the secretary job, she was excited to work for Hitler. She says that she did not share similar beliefs, but from the film, one can tell that she had faith that Hitlers plan would be successful (Hirschebiegel & Eichinger 00:24:00: 00:26:13). When the Russians' attacks seemed were closer to where they lived, she believed Hitlers proclamation that they could win the war if the Steiner attacked the Russians. However, as the end comes nearer, her faith in Hitler and his regime diminishes. This is fueled by Hitlers outbursts and suicide (Hirschebiegel & Eichinger 01:44:00: 01:46:13).
