The Pathophysiology of Bells Palsy Bell's Palsy was named after Charles Bell, who was an anatomist and surgeon from Scotland. Acute mono-neuropathy and facial nerves paralysis are associated with the disease. The lower and upper muscles are controlled by the peripheral facial nerves, motor function.
