Stimsons Report on Counter-Terrorism ExpenditureThe United States didnt have a precise account of how much has been spent on fighting terrorism. Thus, legislators have a hard time analyzing expenditure on counterterrorism because there is no precise information. It is this revelation that led the Stimson Centre in 2017 to form a non-partisan study group which they would use to generate the entire expenditure on counter-terrorism. Their survey showed that entire counter terrorism-related expenditure which includes universal projects, wars in Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq as well as governmental internal security efforts which came to a total of around 2.8 trillion dollars in the financial years of 2002 all the way through to 2017.
