Curriculum Map

Instructions

Beginning this week, using the template Preview the documentprovided, you will be creating a curriculum map for an online course based upon the samplePreview the document provided. This will be the course of your choice in a brand-new health-related program you've been asked to develop from the ground up. However, before you can develop your course, you need to decide what the program outcomes will be for your new program.Identify the program where your course takes place and the level (e.g., an A.S. in physical therapy assistant studies, a clinical doctorate in occupational therapy program). Specify the type of institution as well: non-profit, for- profit, private or public, research institution, liberal arts college.Consult with the appropriate accrediting body (e.g., CAPTE for physical therapy) to determine the overarching requirements for that type of program.Draft six program outcomes, which are the outcomes you have to measure and assess to determine how effective your program is from an educational perspective. Accrediting bodies look very carefully at how you assess these outcomes and how you improve your performance, especially when launching a new program and requesting accreditation.Make sure your program outcomes use Bloom's Taxonomy. They must be written from the student perspective, typically in terms of what graduates of the program will be able to do upon completion of the program. After creating your list of program outcomes, address the following:why the program outcomes were selected, how they will satisfy accreditors, andwhy the outcomes selected are appropriate for the program (pay close attention to the level of program [e.g., associate, bachelor, master, and doctorate degree programs in nursing will have different program outcomes even though they are all in the same discipline]).The paper portion of this assignment should be 1-2 pages, not including the references page, and follow APA guidelines.
