Write a response to the following post:According to Carlson and Thompson (2005), medical boards exist to grant licensure, investigate complaints, discipline those who violate practices, and refer for evaluation and rehabilitation when deemed appropriate. Considering the perspective of the medical professional, in this instance, the purpose of these boards can appear to be a paradox if and when the professional finds him/her-self in trouble (Orient, 2018). While the healthcare professional may be trained and competent to provide services, any discrepancies or violations may prohibit the individual from providing that service (Orient, 2018). Professional boards and organizations should address the roles of the health care professional and the importance of providing quality patient care in order to improve the processes and outcomes (Tsai, Jha, Gawande, Huckman, Bloom, and Sadum, 2015). Doing so would improve clinical outcomes that have become significantly more important in a time where value-based care has been put in the forefront (Tsai, Jha, Gawande, Huckman, Bloom, and Sadum, 2015).
