RatiosThe article I chose is about CD4/CD8 Cell Ratio in Acute HIV Infection and the Impact of Early Antiretroviral Therapy. According to the authors, the use of Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) can make the ratio of CD4/CD8 better. The author stressed that there is a missing link explaining the ratio of CD4/CD8 in the early stages after a person has been infected with HIV. The authors analyzed the ratio of CD4: CD8 based on the signs and symptoms that the patient shows at the acute infection stage. They found out that the ratios of CD4: CD8 were quite low (median, 0.71 [interquartile range(IQR), 0.431.02] vs 1.11 [0.581.47];P = .047) for the 72 individuals taken as sample.
