In Unit 4, our one and only chapter on Religion and Magic gave us insight as to how anthropologists try to understand the significance of religion and magic. We looked at topics like the people who practice rituals, various religions, societal customs and beliefs, and the attempts to discover symbolic meanings.For your Unit 4 Topic Essay you are to watch one movie/film, either from the list below or one of your choice, that relates to religion and magic. You are to incorporate your understanding of religion and magic from the movie/film and what you have learned in the chapter. You are to use six terms from the chapter in your 2 page movie analysis. Religion and Magic Depicted in The Mummy Returns FilmMany cultures have unique magic acts that are strongly believed when executed. Most often, the magic is against the religious practices since the magic is Satanism. This paper analyses the religion and magic, as depicted in The Mummy Returns Film by Sommers.
