ORIGINAL QUESTION: At this point you should be narrowing in on potential topics for your dissertation. The specifics may not be targeted but you should know the general area you wish to research. Using the topic area you are considering, explain how the measurement concepts discussed in the text and readings could be used in your research. Why is it important to know the variables within your research study? What type of measurement instrument might you use for your study?  Explain the benefits and possible drawbacks.WRITE A RESPONSE TO THE FOLLOWING :  Quantitative research methods focus on objective measurements of data that can be collected through surveys and questionnaires. In addition, quantitative research requires the use of valid and reliable instruments in gathering pertinent information on specific research (McClendon, 2015). Data from quantitative research is presented in a way to eliminate any confusion that may arise in interpreting the data (Elas, Majid, & Narasuman, 2019).It is important to know the variables within a research study. Knowing the variables in advance will help the researcher guide the study. Variables can be measured on a numerical scale and are important within a research study because they are the foundation of a quantitative study (McClendon, 2015). The two main types of variables are independent and dependent. The independent variable is controlled and stands alone, while the dependent variable changes in response to the independent variable. It is important to know the variables in my specific research study because, at this point, I am targeting a correlational study between the two variables of academic performance and physical activity. Therefore, a quantitative research method appears to be the most appropriate for gathering data for my specific research. Instruments that will benefit my research are rating scales and interviews in addition to the instruments that the subjects will complete, such as questionnaires, surveys, and tests. The benefit of using a quantitative research method is to receive accurate information that unequivocally determines if a relationship exists. A possible drawback may be the possibility of the sampling of subjects being too narrow.ReferencesElas, N. I. B., Majid, F. B. A., & Narasuman, S. A. (2019). Answer

Response to CourseworkThe use of surveys and questionnaires as the main quantitative method is the right choice since it guarantees to collect a large volume of data in the shortest time. Besides, the selected quantitative methods aid the validity and reliability of the data thus providing the necessary research outcomes on the research topic (McClendon, 2015). The variables are essential since they guide the researcher while undertaking the study. Concurrently, the variables guide the progress of the whole study by determining the research objectives, research questions, methodologies and the analysis of the data collected. I concur with the author on the view that quantitative data is the base of the quantitative study due to its reliability (McClendon, 2015). The research must also have...
