However, under our capitalist system, business has always presented multiple challenges across the legal landscape. Understanding how the varied areas of the law work to confront and control, restrict and enable the domestic business environment is the foundational purpose of this course.To help you appreciate the wide range of legal issues and regulations which are active in contemporary American corporate and private enterprise, for your first discussion identify and report upon a situation in which business is regulated and its behavior altered by the application of law.This can be as simple as reading a newspaper article or reporting about a news feature in which business and law intersect. This requirement can also be satisfied by reporting a personal, anecdotal story about your own personal experience where you have observed laws impacting the way business operates.The function here is to illustrate the broad range of subjects and topics that impact business from a legal perspective. In your reply posts, select two discussion postings of your colleagues and research the way those legal situations would have been regulated in your jurisdiction.  For example, if a colleague has indicated that a local business was fined for administering illegal hiring practices, find the ordinances or statutes in your own locale and detail how those regulations would have resolved the issue.Required ReadingChapters 1-4, Beatty & Samuelson, Introduction to Business Law (4th Edition, Cengage Learning Press) 2012.Will upload copies of chapters later
