PLEASE RESPOND TO THE POST!!!! should be 300-400 words (excluding references), should contain 1 internal reference (a reference to a textbook page) and 1 external reference (a reference to a business journal/magazine article!!! Special traits that I believe are important for a virtual leader to possess and exhibit are sociability and determination. While these traits are also important for a face-to-face leader to possess, I believe it would be more critical for a virtual leader to possess these traits due to the virtual environment. The determination trait I believe is important for virtual leaders because they need to be able to drive their virtual employees and keep them focused on the organizations goals. Northouse states, Being determined includes showing dominance at times and in situations where followers need to be directed (Northouse, 2019, p. 83). Its important for virtual leaders to be able to show their determination to their employees and are able to direct them in the virtual environment to keep them engaged.            Sociability is another key trait that virtual leaders should obtain as well. Since the leaders and employees are not interacting face to face everyday it can be extremely difficult to develop relationships with their employees. Its important that a virtual leader goes out of their way to ensure they are establishing that groundwork with their employees to earn their trust. The leadership style that would be the most effective in a virtual environment would be the Democratic style. The democratic leadership style includes the employees ideas and involves them in the organizations goals. This is especially important to do for virtual employees because it will help keep them engaged and feel like they are a valuable part of the team. Goleman states, By spending time getting peoples ideas and buy-in, a leader builds trust, respect, and commitment (Goleman, 2000, p. 10). This is important for a virtual leader to engage with their employees in this way to build those relationships and get employee buy in to stay focused on organizational goals.References:Goleman, D.
