Instructions
Write an APA style scholarly 5-7 page (plus additional title and reference pages) paper.Discuss the history and critique the arguments of the personality-situation debate. What are the arguments and some of the research supporting them? What are your thoughts? What is meant by 'interactionism?' Please create two examples to illustrate the personalityXsituation interaction. What is the essential trait approach? Compare and contrast it to the typological approach. Pay attention to the research supporting both approaches. The Big Five is currently the dominant paradigm in the trait approach to personality. Why do you think this is? Based on your reading, research, and experience, what is your opinion of the Big Five? Be sure to support your arguments and writing with references to the academic literature. You should at least include Funder chapters 4, 6, and the articles in the Donnelan, Lucas, & Fleeson (2009) special issue. Feel free to bring in additional academic sources. You may find it helpful to review the grading rubric before beginning your paper.
