Why are they used so frequently? What valuable information, if any, can be gathered from them?    Appraisal inflation (higher than deserved scores) often occurs. While some see this practice as compassionate and good for morale, some question whether it is ethical. What is your opinion? What effects can this have on long-term employee performance?    Research what W. Edwards Deming had to say about performance appraisals. DiscussionQn. 1The reactions and opinions of employees are used frequently because they are less costly. Further, they provide the HR department with timely information regarding the progress of the training process. One valuable information which can be gathered is the challenges which the trainees face (Nkomo, Fottler & McAfee, 2011). Another insight which can be made is the improvement which the HR department could make to change the situation and, thereby, boost the level of training which the employees are normally exposed to. Thus, they are likely to benefit immensely from the training process. The HR department can also learn whether there is an improvement in the levels of morale of the trainees.
