Step 1 of the Planning Process: Form a Collaborative TeamEmergency planning is not accomplished through the work of one person; the process involves various stakeholders from throughout the planning community. Accordingly, forming a collaborative team is the first step in the planning process. In Unit 1, you will begin to conceptualize what this means and how it can be accomplished. As such, we will continue to explore the Whole Community concept and how we can use its principles in forming a collaborative planning team. Further, you will examine how threats and hazards, and the risks associated with them, are managed in the emergency plan. In Unit 1, you will meet with your instructor to agree on the framework of your plan, including choosing a planning event or planning community to base it on.Readings and ResourcesDeveloping and maintaining Emergency Operations Plans Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG) 101. These sections provide an introduction and overview of the Comprehensive Preparedness Guide and how to use the document. Chapter 1 provides an outline of the basics and fundamentals of planning.
