Two of these ideologies include the progressive facet and the Essentialist facet. These two are varying approaches and perception to education. For instance, Progressives view school as a multifunctional institution. Progressives have the view that school needs to prepare an individual to be whole-rounded and practical. It provides a suggestion of democracy among students where they are given the power to make choices for themselves (Hogan & Bruce, 2013). Therefore, they emphasize on learning by doing.
