Consider that you are a Healthcare Informaticist. You have been asked to evaluate the current workflow and make a recommendation regarding the workflow communications, protocol and architecture required in order to select a new healthcare information system for your organization, department or place of employment. You will write a paper and development a presentation that could be used to present your findings and recommendations to senior management. The paper should be blinded if you are using an actual place of employment. For example, do not label, a specific college of nursing. Make up a name. Papers should follow APA format. Your paper should be 10 pages, not including title page, and references pages. Your presentation should be approximately 10 minutes, and should be a power point presentation with notes that I can see. Your findings should include the following:1.    Situation Analysis: Describe the environment, provider objectives and current information systems configuration, as well as any unmet needs or issues. (This section should be a description of what is in place and what is wrong with what is in place). 2.    Workflow Requirements: Characterize the key workflows, protocol, communications, and other requirements to be met by the new or upgraded health information system. 3.    Architecture Alternatives: Describe and evaluate several workflow alternatives. Indicate pros and cons and how alternatives could lead to unresolved issues. Include how alternatives effect the human factor, care pathways and protocols. 4.    Provisional Recommendations: Provide your next recommendations for how you would improve the system. Options can be do nothing, upgrade system, perform more analysis, modeling, etc. Be specific and give rationales for each recommendation.
